Why Luxury Vinyl Tiles could be right for You!

Why LVT?

Our LVT is easy to handle and install, wear-resistant and requires little maintenance. This means it is perfect for busy homeowners who want a floor that looks great and is low maintenance. LVT offers homeowners the warmth and comfort of wood, stone, or ceramic tiling at a fraction of the cost. With up-to-date designs and realistic finishes, vinyl flooring has never looked better!

LVT is perfect for any room in your home, as it is 100% waterproof. Whilst cheap vinyl is also durable, using LVT in your home is the perfect way to guarantee longevity. This makes it a great choice for the kitchen, bathroom, and hall – areas of your home that are likely to experience a lot of moisture. LVT is also resistant to scratches and staining, so you can be sure your floor will look great for years to come. Luxury Vinyl provides a stylish, yet durable floor for your home, making it a perfect option for busy rooms that experience high footfall.

LVT contributes towards creating a comfortable and relaxing home. It is generally quiet underfoot and does not echo sound, improving the acoustics in your house. In addition, it is warm and friendly underfoot, which makes it comfortable to walk on for long periods of time.

Luxury Vinyl Tiles are cheap compared to real wooden floors. This means it’s affordable to change up your flooring throughout your home, without making a huge dent in your wallet. Luxury Vinyl Tiles are also more affordable and easier to maintain than real tiles. Again, this makes it perfect for busy homes with high levels of footfall and spills. LVT can withstand a lot of punishment and certainly allows for personalisation and style.

Maintaining Your LVT

As Luxury Vinyl Tiling is waterproof, you can mop it as regularly as you please. Daily cleaning with a damp cloth or mop is the best way to remove all traces of daily family life. This will take care of dirt and shoe marks without leaving any residue. It is recommended not to use any wax containing products on LVT flooring, as this could leave a film that traps dirt. It’s also important that you remove spills straight away with water or an approved cleaner. Spills can penetrate the surface of cheap vinyl, making it impossible to truly clean it, however, with some maintenance, Luxury Vinyl Tiles can withstand dirt and spills for a long time without losing its sleek appearance.

Where Can I Use Vinyl Tiles?

A vinyl tile can be used in any room in your home. They are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms. Due to their durability, they can provide a sleek and stylish appearance for years, undergoing lots of footfall and punishment. This is particularly valuable in busy homes as cleaning is simplified and keeping your floor’s stunning appearance is easy.

Wood-Look Vinyl

A Wood vinyl tile is a great option to consider if you want to add the warmth and natural beauty of wood without worrying about scratches or dings. Wood vinyl gives off an authentic look that will make your home feel more like a cabin in the woods than just another house on the block. If this sounds appealing, reach out today so we can help walk you through the process.

Wood-look vinyl has become increasingly popular in recent years because of how realistic it looks. With the advancements in modern technology, wood-look vinyl is just as realistic as wood-look laminate. This means that you can get the look of wood without having to worry about the extra maintenance that comes with it. There are a multitude of wooden colours and designs to opt for to ensure you get the look that suits you best! These include:

  • Light oak
  • Dark oak
  • Beech
  • Maple
  • Pine
  • Walnut

Additionally, you have complete control over the design of the vinyl tile. If you want to opt for a rustic appearance, you can choose distressed looks that bring character and age to your floor. Alternatively, select micro bevelled edges, that adds definition between planks. This only enhances the authenticity of the look as the vinyl tiles replicate wooden planks. Another option is wire brush design. The vinyl tiles that have this look are made to show subtle, intentional wire scratches, leaving the appearance of exposed wood on the surface.

These designs give a unique and rustic look that can really make your flooring stand out. If you’re looking to introduce vinyl tiles to your home, then this is the perfect option for you!

Stone-Look Vinyl

Stone and slate looks are incredibly popular in kitchens and bathrooms in particular. They bring a contemporary feel to any home as the sleek appearance introduces modern, cool tones. Much like the case with wood, vinyl tiles can be an excellent substitute to a real stone or slate floor at a fraction of the price. Typically, you will see stone-looks in our Luxury Vinyl Tiles.

At Tech Flooring, we have a wide variety of vinyl tiles that perfectly replicate the look of stone or slate, at a far lower price than the real thing. We believe that our selection can be a great way to revamp your home.

Much like with wood, a stone-look vinyl tile comes in a variety of designs. Distressed and textured looks can be incorporated into vinyl tiles replicating slate or stone tiles.  If you’re looking for a vinyl tile floor that has a natural stone look, vinyl also comes in a range of different colours and designs to choose from. These include:

  • Limestone: Limestone vinyl tiles can give your floor a sophisticated and luxurious look. The gorgeous natural patterns of limestone are highly sought-after for a luxurious look.
  • Marble: Marble vinyl tiles are perfect for a timeless and elegant look. The natural veining of marble is beautiful and unique, and the translucence of the vinyl gives your floor a luxurious feel.
  • Slate: Strong colours and defined edges are what slate is all about. Sharp and contemporary slate looks will be super trendy in 2023. The stressed look brings texture and personality to a room.
  • Travertine: This look replicates the stone in ancient architecture and castles. Use this vinyl to create a rustic feel while bringing style and elegance to any room.

Comparing Different Flooring Types

By | Carpet, Flooring ideas, Laminate Flooring, LVT, Vinyl | No Comments

Changing your floor can be a great way to revamp your home without spending a fortune, but it is not an easy task in knowing what floor to go for. So, we have developed this guide to help you understand whether Carpet, Laminate or Vinyl is the best floor for you. If you are searching for flooring in Tonbridge, then continue reading this blog, or get in touch today!

flooring Tonbridge. Modern kitchen with white furniture

Comparing Carpet, LVT and Laminate Flooring

Durability

Carpets and Durability

You know what you get with carpet, it has been a solid staple for years and is often installed by our flooring experts in Tonbridge. Carpet’s durability majorly varies depending on the material that is used. Whilst many people may believe it is not a durable flooring option, that is not necessarily the case. When it comes to durability, nylon is usually the best option as it is the most resilient to foot traffic and general wear and tear. Polyester carpets are a close second, with olefin closely behind. However, all three of these materials can last for many years with adequate care. Polyester and wool are stain resistant, however as wool is a natural fibre, rather than a synthetic one, it does usually cost more.

As a general rule of thumb, the softer the carpet, and the higher the loop pile, the less durable a carpet will be. With all this taken into consideration, it is important to understand that caring for your carpet will enable it to last for years. As with any floor, a little TLC can go a long way.

Laminate and Durability

Laminate flooring is known for its durability and our flooring experts in Tonbridge rave about it. It is particularly hard-wearing and resistant to stains, scratches, chips, and liquids. Additionally, laminate is often UV-resistant, which allows it to retain its stunning appearance for years, regardless of how much sunlight it receives. Unlike carpets, laminate does not require as much effort when cleaning, a simple mop or vacuum will often do the trick, allowing you to spend less time on cleaning! Whilst it may not be as comfortable underfoot, laminate certainly redeems itself with its durability and its versatility, but we’ll get into that later!

Vinyl and Durability

Our flooring experts in Tonbridge love vinyl. Vinyl is a popular option because it is durable and affordable. A decent vinyl floor should last a good few years, making it a good investment for your home. If you really want to guarantee quality, opt for Luxury Vinyl Tiling (LVT). LVT is a thicker material and is often more durable than standard vinyl, allowing it to retain its fabulous look for an even longer period of time. However, given the “luxury” aspect of the tiling, you are of course paying for quality. Either way, you can rest assured that vinyl is particularly durable without breaking the bank!

Style and Appearance

Carpet Stylings

You know what you get with a carpet. Carpets are a great way to introduce warmth and comfort into any room, particularly a bedroom or living room. A light coloured carpet can create the illusion of space in smaller rooms, making it feel less cramped. Alternatively, darker colours can bring a cosy and warmer atmosphere to your room. Additionally, you can make a statement with your carpet. Vibrant colours can be complemented well with neutral tones in the walls and furniture to make your carpet the centrepiece of a room. You must obviously be careful not to overdo it, but vibrant carpets can really revamp your space!

Laminate Stylings

Laminate can be the perfect substitute to real wood flooring. With its many designs mimicking the appearance of wood, you can really introduce a stylish look through laminate. Many laminate floors can come with a ‘distressed’ wood appearance. This can help you bring a rustic vibe to your home, which is a very popular trend for 2022. Additionally, as the size and orientation of laminate planks can be customised, you can begin to create textured and interesting designs on your floor. This can help you in creating a larger feeling room and add a bit of character to a kitchen or hallway that may otherwise be a bit bland. Yes, laminate’s faux wood appearance obviously isn’t the same as real hard-wood. However, if you are looking for a combination of affordability, durability and style, then laminate could just be the perfect floor for you.

Vinyl Styling

Much like laminate, vinyl floors can mimic the appearance of expensive wood or ceramic tiles. Vinyl flooring is a great option for people who are looking for a flooring solution that is affordable and stylish. Standard vinyl can do a solid job at mimicking stone or ceramic flooring, and there are many, many designs patterns and colours available, including those that look like wood. However, once again, you must be cautious as it will not look exactly like the real thing. Vinyl’s smooth finish does somewhat remove the feel of wood or ceramic as “cracks” and textures are not the same as what you get in the real thing. However, it is undeniably an excellent substitute.

LVT is more convincing in replicating the real look of a hard wood floor. Again, it is not quite the real thing, but its raised cost does bring a more authentic appearance. Regardless of what type of vinyl you select, you can be certain that you will have plenty of options! Vinyl flooring is particularly customisable and can be designed to suit any room in any home! Whether its sleek and comfortable look for a kitchen or dining room, or something a bit more modern for a bathroom, vinyl can cater for it. This flooring type really allows you to express yourself without spending arm and limb on authentic ceramic tiles or wooden planks.

Installation

Regardless of the floor you choose, we recommend having it installed by a flooring professional. Whilst laminate’s “Click-flooring” can be easy to install if you know what you’re doing, you need to be certain that it is done safely and correctly to ensure it remains in place for a long time. Carpets will definitely require a flooring professional, there are many processes involved to ensure that your carpet is solidly in place and is not going to shift underfoot.

Flooring Trends for Summer 2023

By | Flooring ideas, Laminate Flooring, LVT, New Floor Installation, New Trends, Vinyl | No Comments

As we head into the summer of 2023, homeowners and designers alike are eagerly anticipating the latest flooring trends. From eco-friendly materials to bold colours, this year’s trends are all about making a statement and creating a unique look for your home.

summer flooring trends 2023.

Check out the Latests Flooring Trends for this Summer

Save the Planet

One of the most significant flooring trends for 2023 is the use of eco-friendly materials. As more and more homeowners become conscious of their impact on the environment, sustainable flooring options have become increasingly popular. Options like bamboo, cork, and reclaimed wood are not only eco-friendly but also add a natural, warm feel to any space. In addition to being environmentally friendly, these materials are also durable and long lasting, making them a great investment for any homeowner.

Make a Statement

Another flooring trend that is gaining popularity this summer is the use of bold, statement-making colours. While neutral shades like beige and grey have been popular in recent years, 2023 is all about embracing bold hues. From deep blues and greens to vibrant oranges and yellows, bold colours can add a touch of personality and excitement to any room. This trend is particularly popular in areas like the kitchen and bathroom, where a pop of colour can make a big impact.

Pattern Up

In addition to bold colours, patterned flooring is also making a comeback this summer. Whether it’s a geometric design or a more traditional pattern like herringbone, patterned flooring adds a unique touch to any space. This trend works particularly well in smaller areas like entryways or powder rooms, where a bold statement can really make an impact.

Hardwood and LVT

For those who prefer a more classic look, traditional hardwood flooring remains a popular choice. However, this year’s trends are all about mixing and matching different types of wood to create a unique, personalized look. Whether it’s a mix of light and dark woods or different species altogether, combining different types of wood adds depth and texture to any space.

In addition to hardwood, luxury vinyl flooring is also gaining popularity this summer. With advances in technology, luxury vinyl can now mimic the look of natural materials like wood and stone, but with added durability and ease of maintenance. This option is particularly popular in high-traffic areas like kitchens and entryways, where durability is key.

Living it Large

Finally, one trend that is here to stay is the use of oversized tiles. Large format tiles are perfect for creating a sleek, modern look in any space. They can be used on both floors and walls, and are particularly popular in bathrooms and kitchens. Additionally, larger tiles mean fewer grout lines, which can make cleaning and maintenance a breeze.

When it comes to flooring trends in 2023, the options are truly endless. Whether you prefer a classic look or something more bold and unique, there is a flooring option out there for everyone. By embracing eco-friendly materials, bold colours, and unique patterns, you can create a stylish and functional space. So, whether you’re renovating your entire home or just updating one room, be sure to keep these flooring trends in mind as you plan your design.

How to Clean Pet Friendly Flooring

By | Carpet, Laminate Flooring, LVT, Vinyl | No Comments

We love our pets, but naturally, they have a reputation of being messy and dirty! Whilst it can be stressful, it’s important to remember that with the right cleaning methods and products, it’s easy to keep your carpets looking great. So, we have compiled a guide on pet friendly flooring, and how you can clean it.

family cuddling cat, with dog sitting on pet friendly flooring

How to Clean Your Pet Friendly Flooring

Stay Calm!

When you find yourself faced with a mess, your first task is to keep your cool. You know your pet didn’t mean to make a mess, and getting stressed will not help! Besides, if you have pet friendly flooring, it should be easy enough to clean. Staying cool means not panicking and trying to clean everything up at once. If you try to do too much, you’ll only end up making the situation worse.

Instead, take a deep breath and start by cleaning up the easiest areas. This will help you to regain your composure and help you find the best solution. Once you have cleared your mind and space you can begin to address the problem itself.

Act Quickly

If you spill something on your carpet, act quickly to clean it up. The longer the spill sits, the harder it will be to remove. If you have pets, be especially careful to prevent them urinate or defecate on the carpet. The enzymes in their urine and faeces can damage the fibres in your carpet over time.

Therefore, it is important to act quickly if your furry friend makes a mistake. Remove your pet from the room, preferably leaving it with a family member in an adjacent room, or in the bathroom if nobody is around and move on to the next step and begin getting to work.

Dealing with Different Stains

Liquids

When a spill or urine occurs, it is important to take action as quickly as possible when cleaning your pet friendly flooring. Do not try to rub the spill or urine, as this will only push them deeper into the fabric of your carpet. Instead, use a dry cloth to blot the liquid until it is absorbed. If the spill is particularly stubborn, you can use a few drops of vinegar mixed with water to help loosen it.

There are sprays available to help remove stains from liquids, but be sure to act quickly and catch the stain as soon as possible. However, it is possible to make a home made solution to deal with it. Once you have soaked up as much of the liquid as possible, use your spray to pick up any remaining stains.

Solids

Solid messes, on the other hand, should not be tended to with towels or rags, unless you want to have them smeared all over your floor. Instead, use a dustpan and brush to sweep the mess into a bag or bin. If a stain has been left behind, we recommend soaking the stain and trying to soak it up using a dry cloth. You could also try using a vacuum cleaner to end the process to pick up any remaining fibres. DO NOT use your vacuum to collect the main bulk of the mess!

Look Out for Paws

Considering their size, the paws of your pet can drag a surprising amount of dust, dirt and grime into your home. This can happen, regardless of weather you have pet friendly flooring or not. This can pose a serious problem, as all that dirt and dust can quickly build up and lead to allergies or asthma attacks. In order to keep your home clean and healthy, it’s important to regularly check your pet’s paws. If necessary, wash them thoroughly and do not allow them onto the carpet until their feet are dry. Even if the paws are wet, they can still damage your carpet so be sure to stay vigilant if you want your carpet to stay beautiful!

Strategic Rugs

The best way to protect pet friendly flooring, is by covering it. Placing rugs around your homes, particularly at the entrances can be a great way to remove dirt. This is because rugs can catch the dirt on your pet’s paws before entering your home, thereby preventing the dirt from being tracked in. Be sure to choose strategic places for your rugs and to vacuum them regularly to keep them clean. This gives your pet the opportunity to clean their feet before entering the home and may remove the necessity for you to wash them.

Additionally, you can place rugs on the carpet itself. You can train some animals to remain on the rug if absolutely necessary, but it acts as a great extra form of protection for your carpet. Furthermore, a rug can add a great texture to a room and help to make it more comfortable.

Regularly Vacuum Your Carpet

One of the best ways to keep your carpet clean is to vacuum it regularly, even if you have pet friendly flooring. Vacuuming removes dirt, dust and other debris that can accumulate in your carpet over time. It’s important to vacuum both high-traffic areas and low-traffic areas of your home to prevent dirt and dust from building up. If you have pets, you may need to vacuum more often to remove pet hair and dander.

Furthermore, as pet hair can gather on carpets, it can make it look less appealing. If your vacuum is not effective at picking up pet fur, it could be worth purchasing a vacuum specially designed for fur. This will help keep your carpet looking beautiful for a long time.

Carpet Shampooing

Like the rest of your house, your carpet sometimes requires a deep clean. Not only is this important for maintaining hygiene, but it can also prolong the life of your flooring.

How often you need to shampoo your carpet depends on a number of factors, including how much foot traffic there is and whether you have pets. As a general rule, high-traffic areas should be cleaned every six months to prevent dirt and grime from building up, while lower-traffic areas can be cleaned yearly. If you have pets, you may need to clean more frequently as they can track in dirt and other debris.

Shampooing your carpets is another great way to keep them clean and free of dirt. You can either do this yourself or hire a professional carpet cleaning company to do it for you. Be sure to vacuum the carpets first to remove any surface dirt and then shampoo them according to the instructions on the bottle. To find out more, contact our experts in flooring.

The Best Flooring for Families

By | Carpet, Flooring ideas, Laminate Flooring, LVT, Vinyl | No Comments

One of the biggest challenges for parents is keeping on top of all the housework. This can be especially difficult if you have a busy family. Cleaning is always a concern when considering a new floor, but don’t worry, there are plenty of flooring solutions that can help make your life a little bit easier. Many of us think that we can’t have both practicality and good looks, but these days, flooring shops can provide you with both, giving you the best flooring for families. You can find flooring that is both beautiful and functional, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Every type of flooring has its benefits, and whether it is durability, comfort, cleaning or something else that is at the top of your priorities, there is the perfect floor for you.

When you lead a busy life, traipsing round flooring shops is not always possible. So, we have developed this blog to help you decide on the perfect floor for your home by highlighting the best flooring for families.

family eating at the table, with light brown aminate family flooring

Finding The Best Flooring for Families

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is often considered to be relatively unfashionable and not always the most durable, but this is not the case. It can be one of the best flooring for families. Laminate flooring may originally struggle if regularly exposed to moisture or sudden changes in temperature. However, with modern technology, laminate flooring has come a long way. Waterproof laminate is now particularly common in most flooring shops and has become far more durable than it was in recent times. Its new and improved durability, combined with its easiness to clean, makes it a suitable flooring type that will last for years.

Additionally, laminate is highly customisable. It comes with a wide range of features, designs and colours, lending itself to be incorporated into any room of your home. Laminate can be perfect for a busy family household as it provides both comfort and durability, making your life far easier.

Laminate can also be used in conjunction with underfloor heating. This makes it perfect for rooms such as kitchens as it encourages families to spend time in rooms together, without feeling too cold. This is where laminate can contest carpet in terms of comfort as it can bring warmth as well as style and durability, making it a popular flooring type for many families.

Luxury Vinyl Tiles

Luxury Vinyl Tiling (LVT) is becoming an increasingly popular flooring for families, due to the flooring’s ability to withstand busy family homes.

The flooring is made of vinyl material which makes it highly tear resistant and extremely durable. This makes it perfect for busy households because they can withstand the wear and tear of energetic children.

The stark difference between LVT and traditional vinyl, is its appearance. LVT boasts a more stylish appearance to traditional vinyl and can be incorporated in any room of the house. Wood effect floor tiles can really bring some authenticity into your home, and can be a great way to spruce up a room. LVT is an alternative option to hardwood flooring, however you can still incorporate the stunning look that wood floor brings. LVT can mimic the appearance of hardwood flooring, however it is far easier to care for. It is far easier to clean and therefore maintain its beautiful appearance. Additionally, as it is waterproof, you do not need to worry about your floor absorbing water like wood might.

In a busy household, LVT provides a softer surface underfoot. This makes it a great flooring for families with children as it reduces the risk of injury when they are running around. Furthermore, LVT has anti-slip properties and reduces the likelihood of children falling and hurting themselves. LVT is the perfect combination of style and durability. It is an affordable alternative to hardwood, but provides the durability of laminate flooring. Many flooring shops rave about LVT, and we are no different.

Wood Flooring

A wood floor is a popular choice for homes because of its natural beauty and durability. Wood flooring is available in a variety of styles and colours. So, you can find the perfect flooring to match your home.

Although wood flooring looks fabulous, it’s not necessarily the best option for a busy family home. Wood flooring can be difficult to clean and can become scratched or stained easily. If you are looking for flooring that is durable and easy to clean, consider vinyl flooring or laminate flooring. It is not always the best option for dealing with spills and water, this can damage the floor over time. However, as you pay for luxury, it is obviously durable to an extent and looks amazing. Wood flooring does last longer and needs little maintenance early in its life, but you do need to be aware of ways in which it could be damaged.

The main advantage of wood flooring is its appearance. The rustic appearance is particularly popular at the moment, and this will only continue. Wood will retain its great appearance for a long time, and bring style to any room in your home. All flooring shops will advertise their wood flooring as it does come with a price, but it is certainly worth the investment.

Carpet Flooring

A carpet is a great flooring option for busy family homes. Carpet is undoubtedly comfortable underfoot, making it great for children to play on and reduces the likelihood of injury. Additionally, carpet brings warmth and comfort to rooms, particularly in living rooms and bedrooms. The wide array of colours allow you to incorporate carpet into any style you like. You can make a room feel large and cool with lighter coloured carpets, but also bring a cosy and warm vibe with darker colours. Additionally, carpets can be layered with rugs and furniture to really bring a room together.

Many families will worry about the durability of carpet and how easy it is to clean. Obviously, you’re going to spill on the floor. Dropping food and drink on a cream carpet can be a nightmare. However, certain materials are easier to clean than others. To find out more, feel free to contact our team!

Additionally, carpets can be more durable than expected. Certain materials such as wool and cotton will last for years if they are cared for properly. This allows you to enjoy your room without having to worry about too many bald or worn patches.

Carpet is the hardest floor type to clean of all discussed here, but it certainly creates comfort like no other. Comfort comes at a price, and carpet could be the perfect floor for your home.

The Best Flooring Trends this Spring

Parquet Flooring

The parquet floor is a functional and versatile option that easily fits well with the cold and warm shades. It will stay trendy for the coming times, due to the various textures and colours it comes in. Parquet’s versatility is certainly its most valuable asset and will ensure your floor retains a timeless look.

If you’re looking to add a touch of modernity to your home, consider installing a parquet floor. These planks, if laid in a diagonal method, impart a more modern look to the space. Opting for panels with varying widths is the current trick for an eye-catchy pattern to beautify the space.

With 2023 trends, red and orange hues have been replaced by more cold and grey shades of the parquet. Grey floors are a great way to add a touch of elegance to any room, and they go well with most colour schemes. If you’re looking for a floor that will last you for years to come, then a grey parquet is the perfect option for you.

Laminate Trends

Laminate is an excellent material to mimic real hard-wood or slate floors. With the latest developments in technology, homeowners have been able to bring the stylish attributes of these materials, for a fraction of the price. Whilst washed, hard-wood has been a popular laminate trend for many years, here are some of the latest upcoming trends for 2023.

Porcelain Stoneware

One of the greatest and presentable flooring trends 2023 is porcelain stoneware. It makes a space look luxurious and rich in style. Porcelain stoneware tiles come in a wide range of colours, styles, and finishes, making it easy to find the perfect option for your home. They are also incredibly durable and resistant to wear and tear, making them a great choice for high-traffic areas.

This flooring also offers you a range of textures to choose from, including smooth, honed, or brushed finishes. So, if you’re looking for a chic and sophisticated look for your home, porcelain stoneware is the perfect choice.

Porcelain stoneware tends to be a colder material, but this is not necessarily an issue. In the summertime, it can be a cooling surface and make your room far more comfortable to be in, particularly if you are cooking or eating in a kitchen or dining room. If you want warmth, then you can install underfloor heating. Laminate is very compatible with underfloor heating, so is certainly one of the best floors to introduce to your home.

Hexagons & Porcelain Tiles

Flooring trends for spring 2023 include hexagonal tiles and other shapes to be added in the dining room, living area, kitchen, and other interior spaces. These shapes can add personality and style to any room in your home. They can also be more affordable than traditional square or rectangle tiles.

Whilst unconventional, these shapes can bring a stunning aesthetic through the floors to any home. These tiles come in a variety of colours, textures and sizes, all of which can be adapted to suit your decor. Their versatility is absolutely crucial, and there are no rules when it comes to hexagonal tiles. This allows homeowners to truly express themselves when bringing new floors to your home. You can accent these tiles with any colour or form of furniture, however, we recommend keeping it simple if your floor is going to be somewhat “loud”.

Hexagonal tiles allow homeowners to make a statement with their floor and set the tone for the rest of the space. Do not be afraid to embrace these tiles as they can revolutionise any home.

Carpets

Whilst laminate and tiles are growing in popularity, you can’t go wrong with a carpet. Whilst the popularity of laminate and tiles floors continue to grow, carpets are still a popular choice for many homeowners. The latest carpet models have qualities like water and stain-resistant, which make them a convenient choice for busy families.

Multi-coloured carpets will be a popular choice for homeowners in 2023. Not only do they add a pop of colour to your floors, but they also come with interesting patterns that can enhance the look of any room. If you’re looking for a way to add personality to your home, multi-coloured carpets are the way to go. Whilst many might be afraid to adopt multi-coloured carpets, it is certainly a risk worth taking. If done correctly, a multi-coloured carpet can add style and personality to any room, and give it a timeless look.

Unlike hard-wood or slate tiles, carpets remain an affordable option whilst retaining high quality. Furthermore, there is no floor more comfortable than a carpet. They are particularly effective in comfort rooms, such as the lounge or bedroom. Using a carpet to create warmth and comfort is certainly a way to revamp your space by bringing new floors to your home.

Art Deco in Luxury Vinyl Tiles

For those looking for a bit more style and elegance, without spending a fortune on real slate, should consider Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT).

This style is perfect for those looking to inject a touch of luxury into their homes, without spending a fortune. The geometric shapes and luxurious materials used in Art Deco-inspired LVT floors will give your home an elegant, stylish look. Additionally, the bold colours and contrasting monochromes used in this style can really brighten up a room.

Art deco interior design has always been popular for its luxurious and elegant look. It brings the elegant and bold vibe of the 1920s, but repurposes it for a modern feel. This is certainly a particularly stylish floor and is excellent in bathrooms and hallways.

Furthermore, the versatility of Art Deco-inspired LVT floors is incredible. It can be used to create a range of different looks, from the sleek and simple to the more ornate and intricate. This style is perfect for those who want to add some luxury and elegance to their homes without spending a fortune. Care for your Vinyl Floor

Our Solutions

Spills and stains

Listen, spills and splashes are bound to happen. Whether it’s a dropped chocolate bar or a slip with a glass of wine, accidents happen. Vinyl floors in kitchens are particularly prone to spills and splashes- like oil spits. Although vinyl floors are quite stain resistant, it’s important to not let spills sit for too long. Leaving spills or splashes for too long can cause permanent stain damage to your floor. When a spill happens, quickly go in and wipe it away. If it is a more stubborn splash, go in with a spot cleaner to remove it. This will keep your floor looking clean and fresh.

Cleaning- dos and don’ts

We are often asked how many times a week you should be cleaning your vinyl floor. Although this differs from household to household, it’s a good idea to give your vinyl floor a clean once every 1 to 2 weeks. Sweeping regularly is the key to keeping your floor fresh. Just quickly going over your vinyl floor with a broom every day is a great idea. This removes surface level dust, dirt and crumbs.

Adopting a low-impact cleaning technique is a good idea. Rather than blasting away at splashes and dirt once a fortnight, choose the gentle, regular cleaning method instead. This is much kinder on your vinyl floor and keeps it in good condition.

Watch out for water

Whilst vinyl is a very water-resistant floor, it is important not to drench your floor when you clean it. Using a soaking mop can mean that water works its way into the cracks and can cause permanent damage. Using an overly wet mop can also cause the edges of your vinyl to curl. A lightly damp mop, paired with a spot cleaner, should be sufficient to gently clean your vinyl floor.

Preserve the shine!

A crucial element to looking after your vinyl floor is to check whether it is a ‘wax’ or ‘no-wax’ floor. No-wax vinyl has a built-in shine layer that could be damaged by adding wax. If your no-wax floor loses its shine, go in with a polish or sealant that is specifically for no-wax floors. Always check your cleaning products before applying them to see if they are suitable for your type of vinyl floor.
